Dune

Thermoformed mixed media wall sculpture.

16 in. x 36 in.

Inspired by the vast sand dunes I’ve encountered during my travels, this sculptural wall artwork captures the natural movement, softness, and ever-changing forms of wind-shaped landscapes. The flowing, undulating layers mimic the way sand naturally shifts and folds across a dune, creating a sense of movement and dimension.

To bring that inspiration into the artwork, I incorporated real sand into the surface, creating an organic, tactile texture that closely echoes the grain and appearance of a windswept desert landscape. The contrast between the sculptural form and the raw texture of the sand adds depth and visual interest, inviting the viewer to experience the piece beyond its surface.

This 3D sculptural wall art is a contemporary interpretation of the desert landscape—an exploration of texture, movement, nature, and organic form. Each curve and textured layer reflects the beauty of imperfection found in nature, transforming the familiar landscape of sand dunes into a statement piece designed to bring depth and dimension to the wall.
